First, let me say that I love styling H.E.R. (Having Everything Revealed) for editorial shoots. Most recently, H.E.R’s beautiful curls were displayed on the cover of RollingOut magazine. The cover shoot showcases H.E.R. letting her hair down in waves that cascade to her mid back, adding just the right amount of drama, softness, and sass to the tatted, swagged out R&B songstress’ cover photo. Using a keen eye for detail I crafted the perfect look for this cover shoot that captured the mood of H.E.R.’s music.
For the RollingOut shoot, I sprayed her damp hair with Ouidad’s Advanced Climate Control Detangling Spray and applied the Ouidad’s Advanced Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel using the rake and shake technique. I diffused her hair with the BabylissPRO blow dryer.
After the hair was dry, I sprayed the hair with Oribe Heat Lacquer spray and a little Ouidad Mongongo Oil Multi-Use Curl Treatment. Next, I used the BabylissPRO Nano Titanium 3/4″ curling iron to touch up any loose curls. I used a wide tooth comb to pick apart the curls and add fullness. Lastly, I finished the style with the IGK Laid Back Defrizz and Anti-Static Spray.
