This festival season the curls have ruled! However, for those with naturally curly and kinky textures, the curls and kinks may not always keep their shape, especially when you throw in a mix of humid weather, heavy dancing, crowds of people brushing against you, and more elements you can’t control at outdoors festivals.
I recently joined CurlFest on their Facebook Live broadcast to explain some of the best practices for keeping hair cute, neat, and controlled during the outdoor festival season– no matter the hair type.
While on the CurlFest Facebook Live broadcast, I demonstrated on two kinky and curly-haired models to share the following two tips for haute, easily controlled festival-ready hairstyles:
- Be creative and add jewels to the hair in multiple sections for photo-worthy hair from every angle!
- Rock big, fluffy hair, but feel free to add braided details to the front of the hair. It doubles as a functional design.
For festival hair, you want your hair to be big and eye-catching. Don’t do your normal pull-back style. Go big. Accessorize. Add jewels. Add some gold. Add some silver. Make people look at you. You took your time to get dressed and do your hair. Bask in the glory of your big, bouncy tresses.
